Minutes, Computer Club Meeting , 9/6/01

Meeting Called to Order at 7:05 pm
Attendance: Seth Barden (Seth #1), Seth Trahan (Seth #2), Matt, Jen, Kat, Meg, Tom, 
Chita, Will, Ryan, and Jess

-Jess passes out lifesavers.
-President welcomes everyone, new people too.
-Seth #1 introduces Officers:
	Seth #1- President
	Matt ? Vice President
	Kat ? Treasurer
	Secretary ? NONE
	Past President ? Jen
-Everyone else introduces themselves
-We need a secretary, as Jenni-lyn Prescott has resigned.  Seth #1 nominates Jess for 
secretary, Seth #2 seconds, all in favor, 0 opposed, Jess is s-secretary!
-Computer expo cancelled, lack of interest/time/whatever.
-Starting web project. Involves writing web pages for other clubs, no responses so far. 
Probably will be some later though. Will, Ryan, Kat, Matt are interested in 
helping/learning.
-Gaming: usually we pick a night to play a game, usually StarCraft. After some 
discussion, it will be Tuesdays at 6:30 until whenever. Kat in charge of that.
-New purchases! $130 or so on new games. 
-Suggestions for new games to buy? The Sims, Red Alert 2(?).
-Ideas for things to do this year: Boston Trip(omni theatre, MUSEUM OF SCIENCE! 
IT?S THE SHIT!) early in the semester, invite frosh.
-Organization Fair, Seth #1 wants to win. We?re paying $170 for about 550 pens that say 
UMF Computer Club. 
-How should we spend our money? No new compouter, we have too many and we?re 
running out of space. We have $3850. $600 for software, $300 for books, HAD $200 for 
games($63 left), $500 for hardware, $1000 we can use for whatever, $150 to put on an 
event in the Latte Landing, $300 for cancelled expo, and I missed everything else he 
mentioned. And so on as listed in our budget.
-We?re donating a computer to a club because there?s no room for it(and it?s junk).
-Suggestions to buy scanners/software(image altering stuff), digital camera, video 
camera, new printer(color laser printer? too expensive?), new shelves.
-Ice cream next week at 4:30 pm on Tuesday.
-Meetings will be held at 7pm on Thursdays, Gaming at 6:30-8 pm on Tuesdays
-Our advisor is Allen Bailey from the Dept. of Math & Computer Science.
-We hear the story of Evil? and Lil? Evil. _
-We need to get people! Maybe ice cream socials, put up fliers, special speakers, dinners 
in the snack bar.
-Plan Boston Trip and Organization Fair next week.
